As long as people strive to live healthier, quality lifestyles, there will be a strong demand for health science professionals. Health educators, physical therapists, hospital administrators: these varied careers and many others all fall in the category of health science. They share a common goal: helping people to live healthier and happier lives.
Lincoln University's Health Science department will help you build a foundation of knowledge in this discipline to prepare students for graduate school or to begin work as a health science professional. You will be taught by our expert faculty, who will help you determine the area of study that best fits your interests and ensure that you fully understand the concepts being taught in your classes.
The Health Science department offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Your studies will cover a wide range of health-related topics, including biology, sociology, and psychology while allowing you to delve into specialized areas that are the most interesting and appealing to you, such as nutrition, fitness, epidemiology, and more. You can explore the program and degree requirements in the current academic year course catalog.
The mission of the Health Science Program is to prepare students for graduate school and the marketplace for purposes of enhancing the health wellness statuses of the students/clients who they serve. Given the ever-widening health disparities between white Americans and populations of color, this goal becomes more relevant each subsequent year. Narrowing that gap can be achieved with well-prepared students embarking on a career in the health sciences.
