Co-Chairs:
The Study Abroad Committee serves as an advisory body for the Office of International Programs (OIP). In conjunction with the OIP, the committee develops policies and procedures both to maintain the high academic standards of Lincoln University study abroad programs and to ensure effective collaboration with study abroad partners. The Study Abroad Committee likewise collaborates with OIP to train Lincoln University faculty and evaluate subsequent proposals for the Faculty-Led International Travel for Education (FLITE) program. The committee is also responsible for encouraging Lincoln University faculty to participate in Fulbright Scholar programs which involve teaching and/or research, and the sponsorship of visiting international scholars.
Teaching a class in an international setting is an exciting way to enhance student learning. The Faculty-Led International Travel for Education (FLITE) program presents a structure for interested faculty to incorporate international travel into their academic instruction, by leading a group of LU students on a short-term (10 days – 4 weeks) experience.
