How to Apply

School of Adult & Continuing Education Admissions

We strongly encourage applicants to apply prior to the priority deadline for admission consideration and financial support; however, we review applications on a rolling admissions basis.

  • Fall Priority Deadline: July 15
  • Spring Priority Deadline: December 1

 

Adult-Learner Admission requirements

  • Free online application
  • Official Final High School Transcript or General Equivalency Diploma/GED: Required only if you have less than 30 transferable college credits
  • Official College Transcript: Submit official transcript/s for all institutions previously attended
  • Résumé: A current professional résumé

  • Transfer credits from an institution previously attended
  • Have a combined minimum 2.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average/CGPA for all institutions previously attended

 

Graduate Admission Requirements

  • Free online application
  • Official Final College Transcript: Submit official final college transcript showing a conferred degree 
  • Recommendations: Submit two letters of professional reference
  • Résumé: A current professional résumé

  • Personal Statement (Optional): In 500 words, describe the professional skills you bring to Lincoln University. What do you hope to accomplish during your time at Lincoln, and how does this align with your future career goals? Additionally, how do you plan to use a degree from Lincoln University to support your aspirations?

 

International Admission requirements

  • Copy of the passport
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS exam scores if you are a non-native English speaker.
    A score of 500 on the Paper-Based (PBT) or a score of 71 on the Internet-Based (IBT) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for applicants whose native language is not English. Lincoln’s school code is 2367. Only official reports from ETS will be accepted. Note: In lieu of the TOEFL (if not offered in your country), applicants may submit results from IELTS (International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall score of 6.5.
  • An official document that validates completion and conferral of a degree, diploma and/or certificate. Documents must be evaluated by an accredited evaluation service. Applicants are encouraged to submit transcripts to World Education Services or SpanTran for evaluation.
  • Affidavit of Support Form and the supporting financial/income documentation showing proof of funds to cover your academic expenses for the duration of your time at Lincoln University. Multiple sponsors are permitted; however, the dollar amount must be indicated.
    • A sponsor letter stating the sponsor’s name, your name, relationship to the sponsor and the sponsor’s intent to be responsible for your expenses; if you are self-sponsored, you should submit a letter stating that you are sponsoring yourself.
    • Recent monthly bank statement; if the statement is in a foreign currency, the U.S. dollar equivalent and conversion rate must be stated. The balance must match or exceed the total completed in the “1st Year” column on the Financial Resources Form; a letter written by a bank is not acceptable.
  • Immigration Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility), is required to obtain a student visa, but is not issued until the applicant has:
    • Officially been accepted by Lincoln University and accepted the offer of admission;
    • Paid the enrollment fee and;
    • Submit a financial statement indicating how expenses will be met while attending the University.

Important Notes

  • Only completed applications will be evaluated and reviewed for an admission decision.

  • An official transcript is a secure document sent directly from the educational institution where a student completed courses.

    • An electronic transcript is only considered official when the electronic document is sent and delivered through a third-party verified service (such as National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment).
    • paper transcript is only considered official when sent directly from the school of attendance and delivered unopened (in a tamper-evident, sealed envelope) to Lincoln University.
