CARES ACT Emergency Financial Aid to Students Report
CARES ACT RELIEF FUNDS The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) act provides support to college students whose lives have been disrupted. Lincoln University received a share of funding as a result of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. In accordance with CARES Act requirements, we are reporting the following information regarding our participation.
Lincoln acknowledges that the Institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the Institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(3) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to student

Student Eligibility
- There are an estimated 2,638 students at Lincoln that are eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(3) of the HIGHER EDUCATION EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND
Total Student Awards Made
- 2,638 Lincoln students have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a) (3) of the CARES Act. - Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF)
Methods Used to Determine Which Students Receive Aid and the Amount
- Lincoln used the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and actual student award data to determine which students received Title IV aid during the spring 2020 semester thru summer 2021. Students receiving Title IV aid were included in the list of students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants. The base refund amount was $1,500.00. Those students who were Pell eligible with an EFC of $0-$5,711 were eligible to receive additional funds. Of the estimated 2,638 eligible students 884 received $2,088.74; 501 received $2,088.73; 201 received $1,794.11 and 1,052 received $1,500.00 each under Section 18004(a) (3) of the CARES Act. Due to rounding associated with large numbers, some students received 2 or 3 cents more.
