A grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission has funded the preservation microfilming and digitization of many of Lincoln University’s yearbooks. The early yearbooks were called “class books,” and the earliest class book in the Lincoln University Archives dates back to 1900. The Archives has received copies of yearbooks from several university offices, as well as from individual donors, but it does not have a yearbook for every year going forward from 1900. Furthermore, the funding received from PHMC did not cover the costs to microfilm and digitize a copy of each class book and yearbook in the collection; the last yearbook digitized under the grant was 1980. Copies of many (but not necessarily all) yearbooks since 1980 are available for viewing in the library.

Preservation copies of the microfilms of the yearbooks are in safe offsite storage, and service copies of the microfilms are available for viewing in the Pennsylvania Archives, Harrisburg, PA.
