LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - Lincoln University Writing and Reading Center tutors; Dajah Burrows, Tamia Lawrence, Ezekiel Quattlebaum, and Dr. Samaa Gamie attended the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Writing Center Association (MAWCA) Conference hosted by the University of Maryland Writing Center on Saturday, April 2, 2022. This year’s conference theme was "Looking Back and Looking Ahead: The Writing Center's Past, Present, and Future."
Dr. Gamie and her team gave a panel presentation titled, “Re-Envisioning Future Writing Centers Sites and Methods” which focused on re-envisioning writing center practices and services, how writing center practitioners can empower minority students to challenge and resist the racist linguistic, ideological, and socio-economic systems that disenfranchise them or affirm their marginality.
