General Description: During the Spring 2019 semester the Lincoln University Department of Public Safety interviewed a student who had been seriously injured in a series of hazing incidents as part of their initiation into Phi Beta Sigma, fraternity. After an intensive investigation by the Lincoln University Department of Public Safety, seven individuals were charged with the following offenses; 1.08 Infliction of Harm 1.09 Threat of Harm 1.12 Failure to Comply 1.16 Hazing 1.30 University Policies.
Date of Resolution & Outcome: Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated is suspended from Lincoln University for all campus activities starting May 13, 2019. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated may seek reinstatement at Lincoln University January 2021.
Subject: Iota Phi Theta, Incorporated - 2015
Date of violation charge: January 29, 2015
General Description: On January 28, 2015 the Lincoln University Department of Public Safety interviewed a student who had been seriously injured in an apparent hazing incident as part of their initiation into the Iota Phi Theta fraternity. On January 29, 2015, two members of the Iota Phi Theta fraternity were referred to the Lincoln University judicial board and given immediate interim suspensions. On March 13, 2015, after an intensive investigation by the Lincoln University Department of Public Safety, these two individuals were charged criminally with Aggravated Assault and other charges.
Date of Resolution & Outcome: Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated was suspended from Lincoln University for all campus activities on March 13, 2015. Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated was reinstated at Lincoln University January 2019.
